A Brain Is A Terrible Thing To Waste

The human brain is comprised of billions of neurons and trillions of synapses. Your very essence and individuality are reflected by the health and vibrance of your brain cells, which allow you to have your daily thoughts, hopes, emotions, dreams and memories. Unfortunately, those quick and complex thought processes can be subtly and slowly eroded by the passage of time, stress, hormonal changes, decreased circulation, decreased brain connectivity and structural shifts within your brain. Since speech is usually one of the last things to be affected by decreased brain function, the full extent of cognitive loss might not be noted by friends and family until significant deterioration has already occurred.
