Peppermint

Peppermint plants, native to Europe and Asia, grow about two to three feet tall and bloom in late summer. The leaves and stems contain menthol, a volatile oil that is used in medicines, foods and cosmetics. Do not give peppermint to an infant or small child because it can cause breathing problems.
