N-acetyl cysteine

N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) is a metabolite of the amino acid, cysteine. NAC is produced by the human body. It is rapidly metabolized into cellular glutathione, which provides immune support. In addition, NAC is a powerful antioxidant and a great detox agent. NAC also is a strong chelator, removing unwanted metal and toxins from the body. It has been used to provide respiratory support, cholesterol balance and heart health—the latter by reducing homocysteine levels.
