Lactase
Lactase is an enzyme needed to break down lactose, a type of sugar found in milk products. Lactose intolerance—which is felt as digestive upset, bloating, abdominal pain, cramps, gas and diarrhea—frequently is a problem for adults as they age. Taking a lactase supplement can enable a person to still consume milk products that are rich in nutrients, but escape the uncomfortable side effects.
