Vitamin B6, P5P (Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate)
P5P is the active form of vitamin B6. Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P) is the coenzyme for all enzymes involved in the conversion process for amino acids. P5P is also needed for hemoglobin production as well as for fatty acid and prostaglandin metabolism. In addition, P5P is necessary for neurotransmitter production, specifically for the production of dopamine, noradrenaline, serotonin, GABA, and glutamate.*
