Cracking Sound in Knees

Dear Dr. Meletis,

I am a male, 28 years old, living in Nairobi, Kenya. My knees have produced a cracking sound for 5 years and are painless. I’ve been tested for uric acid, rheumatoid arthritis, and they’ve taken x-rays, which were negative. But I have blurry eyes, pimples on my face, reoccurring constipation and I’m fatigued. I have been taking dewormers for 3 months and the situation stresses me. Please help me.

Mr. W.

Dear Mr. W.,

Reactive arthritis is very common where there is pandemic parasitic infections. It sounds like you have done some good tests. The question I have is what does your ova and parasite and bacterial cultures of your stools show? I would recommend taking a good probiotic such as Culturelle®. In addition, Nutri-Joint can assist with joint health and it is absolutely essential that you have your feet examined. If you are flat footed or have a high arch or a misalignment of your feet, this will cause excess stress on your knees. Zinc Monomethionine can help support a healthier complexion relative to acne.  Additionally, it sounds like it would also be prudent to get some thyroid tests, TSH and Free T4. I am not sure about the blurry eyes; I would make sure you are drinking at least 2 liters of clean, fresh water per day.

If your gastrointestinal symptoms of constipation do not improve within a short period of time, make sure to visit with your physician.

Sincerely,

Chris D. Meletis, ND
