Dear Dr. Dean Last week I wrote that I was interested in purchasing AndroSpray for my husband who has ED now along with depression and his heart problem. You were kind enough to write back with some suggestions:AndroSpray and/or BioDim or I3C. Which do you recommend and how much to mobilize the estrogen and when does he take this? Also he takes a Zocor 40 mg. once a day. How much of the LipiControl should he take and how often? Is it safe to switch and can you just stop the Zocor ? Also regarding the 5-HTP and/or Lithium Orotate as a replacement for (per day) Zoloft 100 mg. Remeron 15 mg. and Risperdal 1/2 - 1 mg. per day—will it work and is it safe to stop those medicines cold or does he reduce intake slowly and who monitors the 5-HTP and/or Lithium Orotate? One of the main problems that he has is that he hears voices and also has insomnia. The current medicines Zoloft etc. are helping but they make him tired and the ED is one of the bad effects. I am afraid that these medicines especially Zoloft also may contribute to Alzheimers. Do you know of a doctor in the New York area that subscribes to these natural remedies and can help him? I only know of Dr. Abram Hoffer in British Columbia who has helped many with depression. Thanks for your help. I am anxious to order the products if they are right for him. AF

Dear Mrs. F Please follow the instructions on the bottle for I3C or BioDIM. Id suggest taking the full therapeutic dose as recommended on the bottle LipiControl. If he obtains comparable results to Zocor he may try to reduce the dose. Everyone is different and some people require more (or less) than others. I dont suggest stopping Remeron or Risperdal without consulting with your husbands physician. Both are powerful drugs. I am not familiar with your husbands condition and dont know what (if any) other drugs he has used for this condition. Although 5-HTP and Lithium Orotate are often effective in many neurological and psychological conditions they do not work in every case. 5-HTP and Lithium Orotate are very safe and do not require monitoring. However your husbands condition does require monitoring—especially in view of the heavy duty medications he is taking. 5-HTP and Lithium Orotate can certainly be added to his current regimen but I think his physician should monitor his requirement for and adjustment of the dosages of his medications. I agree that Dr. Abram Hoffer if he is still in active practice would be an excellent choice to consult with. Ward Dean M.D.
